run for the 31st year.

Qualifying Started under record heat
however the track was surprisingly good.
Most cars ended up running too quick in the
first session however Charles Ware in his
Burning Desire Cutlass was low with a 7.55
after one session.

The second session of qualifying featured
the
Perma-Cool Burnout Challenge which
was won by Micheal Irwin in his Strange
Behavior Corvette. Irwin was also able to run
a 7.54 on that run to take the top spot. That
did not last too long as the Ground Zero car
came up in the next pair and ran a 7.53. The
session was closed out with Charles Ware
reclaiming the top spot with an awesome
7.509. Dan Whiteman in his Thunderbird
claimed the
Bar's Leaks Revolving Qualifier
money with an off the trailer 7.59 which was
good for the number 4 spot and the 300
bonus.

when a cracked crank shaft in testing Friday night sidelined them. The door was open for
this to become a 3 car race for the championship. First round saw # 3 in points Mike
Halstead take the win with a 7.589 over Jesse Alcala. The AMP Motorsports car driven by
Paul Peterson was sitting in second place going into first round were they faced Charles
Ware who was the number 1 qualifier. Charles ended up taking the round win with a 7.671
over Peterson's slowing 8.058 as the team had a transmission problem on the run. This
left the door open for rookie Jeff Tildahl in Dennis Murphy's Ground Zero to widen their
points lead. Tildahl defeated Pete Cogswell with a 7.59 to Cogswell's 7.62.
points lead. Tildahl defeated Pete Cogswell with a 7.59 to Cogswell's 7.62.

Other first round winners were Brent Jones defeating Micheal Irwin with a 7.61 to Irwin's
7.64. Dan Whiteman defeating Ken Breneisen on a holeshot  with a 7.779 to Breneisen's
7.774. Chill Scardino defeated Shaun Bryan on a single when Bryan's car lost fire after the
Burnout chill ran a 7.490. Andre Pegues defeated Brad Faria with a 8.170 to Faria's 10.330.
Faria who had a magneto failure in the first round of qualifying received  help from Pete
Cogswell and his crew who were able to repair the Magneto and get Faria running again.
For this Brad was awarded the
Cogswell Marine and Motorsports Lucky Dog Award and
we would like to extend a special thanks to Pete and his crew for always helping fellow
racers when he can.

Second Round of eliminations brought more great side by side racing. Pete Cogswell
returned as the quick loser to face Charles Ware. Pete was able to get the jump off the line
however Charles was able to drive around to take the win with a 7.67. Brent Jones towed
1200 miles to race with CIFCA and their team was very impressive. Brent Faced Chill
Scardino in the second round. Brent had been cutting great lights all day and Chill must
have noticed as Chill turned on the red light giving Jones the win. To make matters worse
Scardino ran a 7.499 to Jones 7.563 with a .424 light. That Run would give Jones the
Good
Vibrations Best Package Award. Andre Pegues and Dan Whiteman faced off and Dan was
unusually late as Andre left first and out ran to take the round win. The last match up of the
second round was numbers 1 & 3 in the points Ground Zero and Team Outcast. Mike got a
.04 jump off the line however was not able to hold on as the Ground Zero car ran a 7.52 to
the Outcasts 7.61.

The Semi's had Brent Jones vs Charles Ware and Jeff Tildahl vs Andre Pegues. In the first
pair the race was over at the starting line as Charles went red giving the win to Brent.
Brent cut an .410 light that run to pick up the
Enderle Quick Reaction Money. Charles ended
running a way too quick 7.21 to Jones 7.44. The next pair had Andre getting the jump off
the line over Tildahl and with Jeff having to play catch up Jeff broke out giving Andre the
win with a 7.599 to Jeff's 7.418.

The finals faced hometown favorite Team Windjammer vs the team that towed 1200 miles
to race Team Lawless. After the burnouts were completed Team Windjammer was shutoff
after a oil leak was discovered. Lawless made a single for the win. A fuel line came off on
the Lawless car so he shut it off early. The crowd gave Andre and team a standing ovation
for their efforts. CIFCA would like to give a tip of the hat to all teams for their efforts.
